Tourist numbers over 1 million for March

The Canary Islands received 1.12 million foreign tourists in March, which meant exceeding the barrier of one million tourists in one month for the first time since the covid-19 pandemic began.

These figures are slightly below those registered in March 2019, before this health crisis began, when the Canary Islands received 1.34 million visitors from other countries. In the third month of this year 2022, the Canary Islands have been the most chosen destination by foreign visitors, especially the British, according to data from the survey of tourist movements released this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics.
