A cloud of sulfur dioxide heading towards the Canary Islands

The eruption of the La Soufriere volcano, located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea, will affect the Canary Islands in the next few hours with the arrival of a huge tongue of sulfur dioxide (SO2), although it is expected that it will not affect the population since it is so high in the atmosphere.

The Aemet has not yet given data on this phenomenon, although several radars and specialized websites have predicted it will be with us tonight

The volcano has created clouds of sulfur dioxide that have traveled many kilometers thanks to atmospheric currents.
