At least two deceased and 41 rescued from a shipwreck off coast of Tenerife
At least two people have died and another 41 have been rescued from the sea alive after overturning a cayuco off the coast of Porís de Abona, in Tenerife, when a rescue boat was preparing to pick them up, a Salvamento spokesperson confirmed. Other sources assure that there were two deceased during the shipwreck and they count more than 50 people.
The Salvamar Alpheratz, the first rescue boat to take to the area, is currently heading to the port of Los Cristianos with one deceased and 36 survivors.
Meanwhile, a Salvamento Marítimo Sasemar 103 aircraft has resumed for the third consecutive day the search for a dinghy with 50 people on board, including four children, which called for help on Wednesday.
The search is focusing this Friday on the waters between the coast of Fuerteventura and Morocco.
