Canary Islands Tourism extends the travel assistance policy
The Regional Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Trade of the Canary Islands Government, through the public company Promotur Turismo de Islas Canarias, has extended the agreement it signed a year ago with the AXA insurance company to provide travel cover for tourists affected by Covid during their stay in the archipelago.
This agreement was initially signed for a period of one year, so the Regional Ministry has already put out to tender a new contract for this insurance, which is published on the public sector procurement platform and in the official journal of the European Union.
Until this contract is resolved, Canary Islands Tourism has decided to extend the assistance policy taken out with AXA. “Our visitors will not be left unprotected at any time. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have made an effort to convey and consolidate the image of safety in our destination, on which we continue to work every day,” said the Canary Islands Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla.
