Patient arrested after stealing the wallet from the nurse who treated him in Tenerife medical centre
The National Police have arrested a 47-year-old man, with multiple police records, as the alleged perpetrator of a minor crime of fraud committed with the credit card of a nurse who, before that, had treated him in a medical center from the Los Gladiolos neighborhood.
The national policemen, on May 3, went to a medical center to attend a service. The nurse who requested their presence told them that they had just stolen her wallet, most likely the patient she had just treated.
The utility claimed to have realized it after receiving bank notifications of charges made with its card on the smartphone. Looking for it, he realized that his wallet had been stolen.
The national police officers quickly located an individual who presented the same physical characteristics as the patient who, allegedly, had committed the theft.
In the control of his personal effects, the agents intervened the bank card and documentation in the name of the nurse, which was later given to him. In addition, they intervened 20 grams of hashish, for whose possession he was proposed for administrative sanction.
Given that the man lacked an address and did not offer, in the opinion of the agents, sufficient bail to go to the judicial authority when required, they proceeded to his arrest and transfer to police stations. From there, together with the statement made for this purpose, it was made available to the competent judicial authority.
The actions have been carried out by national police officers of the Citizen Security Brigade of the Provincial Police Station of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
