The Canary Islands' electricity demand drops by 4.4% in March

The demand for electricity from the Canary Islands was estimated at 652,120 MWh in March, which is 4.4% lower than that recorded in March 2020, themonth in which the alarm status was declared in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. If the effects of the calendar and temperatures are take into account, the figure drops by 4.8% compared to March 2020, according to Red Eléctrica.

Compared to a period prior to the pandemic, in March 2019, and corrected the effects of labority and temperatures, the demand for Canarian electricity drops by 12.4%.
